The architectural intent was to have a highly transparent entrance lobby with the glass guard to the upper levels integrated with appearance of the wall.
The options of a “Doc and Pin” system or a “NHG (No Holes in Glass)” system were presented to the architect who chose the latter. Each panel of glass rests on a ledge which is affixed to the glass fins and the glass is bonded to the fins to resist wind loads. No fasteners are visible from outside.
Not only did Stella focus on its hardware design but engineering design also played a big part in the process as well. For more information about this project, check out it’s case study!
