Read MoreThis beautiful one-of-a-kind 44-metre [145′] Kingsway Pedestrian Bridge spans across the busy intersection of Kingsway and McMurray Avenue in Burnaby, a city in Metro Vancouver. The bridge’s design was built to create an aesthetically pleasing portal for traffic entering and leaving the city along the Kingsway corridor. The guards for the bridge are affixed to stainless steel rods, suspended from the large glulam beams arching across the road. Due to the varying angle of each rod which caused the glass panels to slope inwards multiple lengths of standoffs were required on the spider fittings. Not only did Stella focus on its hardware design but engineering design also played a big part in the process as well.
