Calgary West - LRT Line

Sunalta Station (pictured) is one of the six Calgary West LRT stations that Stella was involved with from early project days. We were proud to use our extensive transit experience and knowledge to guide best practices while providing shop drawings, engineering, and hardware fittings to these stations.

West LRT inspired the creation of our adjustable doc & pin.
This now standard product was custom-designed (in mass quantities) to achieve the curved glass look of the stations.
Discrete doc & pin fittings are installed with bolt-through structural steel. The pin is connected to the structure while the doc is free to rotate around the pin.

It is a Stella philosophy that one less hole to drill on-site in steel across 1,000 fittings in a transit system can create huge cost savings. We keep this in mind when looking at the design of all our parts.

This was significant on this project as Stella supplied over 2,440 assemblies including the custom-designed adjustable doc & pin as well as balustrades, handrail brackets and other point-supported glass hardware.
