Custom Doors, Substantial Views!
University of British Columbia - Totem Cafeteria
UBC’s scenic Marine Drive is shown off though 4 sets of VUE sliding doors within the Dining Hall of Totem Park Residence. Installed in a Juliette style balcony on the second floor, these 5’ wide by 10’ high doors let in fresh air while students enjoy their meals.
Some unique elements about this project are that the doors slide into curtain wall accommodating the existing structure. This required the sill and head meet at a unique angle (shown above) versus an inline straight track – all custom components for these doors. UBC boasts a great campus, and this is another way students can enjoy the views.
