“That goal was critical to the mission of Children’s, which continually strives to transform an often-overbearing building type into a place that is approachable, accessible, and family-friendly….most evident inside the hospital, where a deliberate use of nature-related themes and an extensive art program were integral to creating a less stressful setting.”

The use of glass on the elevator to this children’s hospital allowed the architect to incorporate images of trees into the glass laminate. Spider connections to support the glass allowed for a largely transparent yet interesting installation.
The glass guards followed curved lines which necessitated the development of a Doc and Pin system that all owed for the faceting of glass to create the curves.
